1990 Civic Dying and restarting 5 min later
My 1990 honda civics check engine light came on and died on the highway the other day. I got it to the side of the road and it restarted 5 min later.

I did check the codes and it was throughing 1,15,16 and 17.

I started with code number 1 by removing the hazard fuse and then restarting the engine and eventually got the check engine light to come back on. Th only code present now is 15.

After reading some of the posts I preformed the k-test and got 5V so the ECM must still be good. The CEL comes on when the key is turned to position II, the really makes the noise and the fuel pump turns on.

I am getting 12V to the coil and the only thing left would be the ignitor. I wanted to make sure that there was nothing else that could be going wrong before I replace the ignitor?

You nailed it! Replace your ignitor and the problem should be solved. Here's how to do the work yourself:

Personally, I would replace the coil at the same time.

HI: My 1990 honda civic would have the battery light on occasionally for a few minutes... figured the alternator was going bad. Then a couple of weeks later the headlights started surging to some degree. I figured the voltage regulator was ready to go... then I was at a light and the car started...
