    Is it selfish?
Is it selfish to just elope and not invite anyone to the wedding?

I like small weddings but if it was up to my fiancé we would have 500+ at the reception/weddings.

I can think of a lot of better things to do with that money.

It depends on what you'd rather do, if you want a small wedding then you should have one because well a big one costs more and if people don't show it will be quite the waste... Also it is not selfish because well it's the brides and grooms special day and they pick who comes, unless you think of it in the way that you want friends to come but it's is selfish to have a time that you'll remember forever and your friends don't even get to entirely get to be there for you because it's too small and you want it to be just you and husband.

It isn't selfish at all, it just depends on what you both want and can reasonably afford.

Why not work on a budget for the next five years, and include a few wedding plan options? You could prepare some ideas for how you see the finances being managed long term, and ask her to put aside some quality time to discuss them together.

You could also give your fiancé a budget for the wedding to work with and let her come up with some ideas of her own. The main thing is to let her know you want control over your joint spending to get your marriage off to a good start ~ as well as having a wedding day you can both look back on and feel happy about.

Oops! Sorry, if you're a female, then we're talking about him, not her! :)

Ok, here's the thing. My girlfriend and I have been going out close to a year. Am I selfish? [ 5 Answers ]

I am doing a lot of soul-searching these days after a bad breakup. I always had considered myself to be a very giving person, because I agreed to move when my ex wanted to move and I felt it was a big sacrifice. Looking back, though, I think I held a grudge for doing this for him and then I was...

We've been married for a little over 3 years now (no kids). My wife brings home work to do a lot which takes up the majority of her energy each day. This basically means not much gets done unless I do it. I cook, I clean, I pay the bills, and pretty much do everything else. We've talked about...

Selfish, self-centered boyfriend=selfish, self-centered husband [ 6 Answers ]

My husband has done many things to hurt me. To begin, he lied about who he was when we were dating. We were young and in college; he pretended to not smoke, get drunk, and go to church regularly. Thus, we seemed to have so much in common. We talked for hours; he swept me off my feet with...
