    Intertherm electric central furnace
I have an Intertherm Central electric furnace model FEH-017H-C It has run perfect for years but lately the fan will not always start up.

The thermostat clicks on the heater coils and after about 12 seconds the fan kicks in and circulates the warm air. Occasionally the thermostat clicks on and the coils heat up but instead of the fan turning on, I hear a loud click from one of the relays and than nothing. After a few minutes it goes through the same cycle again and the fan refuses to run.

T remedy it , I turn the thermostat all the way back until I here a loud click. I than reset the thermostat to the required heat and it fires up like it's supposed to with the fan . It will run fine for days until it decides to act up again . If I'm not home to reset the thermostat it will not run and the house freezes up. Any suggestions ? Thanks Balenn

The contactor is going and will soon not work at all. The contactor is the same as a relay. You need to have this part replaced by a repairperson.

Check for a defective sequencer. One of the sequencers activate the fan in heat mode. Is this in a mobile home?

    Part number 11 here.

Yes this is in a mobile home. Is the function of the sequencier like that of a relay switch?
When I play with the thermostat it seems to return to normal function. It's only when I turn the thermostat down below 65 deg. f. that it acts up

Yes a sequencer acts like a relay BUT it is actually a combination of a switch and a time delay.

I have no idea why turning the thermostat below 65 causes it to act up.
