    Wiring RTH7000 Thermostat
I am converting from an old Honeywell (Chromotherm III) to a new RTH7000 and the contractor who disconnected the old one didn't write down which wire went to which connection... So I'm stuck with five wires as follows:
One wiring group (all coming from one common tube) consisting of RED, WHITE, and GREEN wires; a second group consisting of White and Green (and a red wire that is coiled around these two wires and which wasn't hooked up in old tstat.
The connection options on the new tstat are as follows:
    C
    G
    Y
    W
Rc (coupled with jumper to R)
    R
    W2
    Y2

I have both central A/C and hot-water baseboard heat in case this helps in determining where my wires are from.
Any thoughts on where my wires should go would be greatly appreciated.
    Much thanks!

Not have the original wire locations will be a big problem for you. The safe way to do this is to track down or trace all the wires back to where they go and determine what they do. Then you can wire the thermostat correctly.

There is not much I can do at this end since a guess on my part could in turn damage your new thermostat or equipment on your end if I tell you to connect the wrong wires to the wrong terminal. You do not even have a proper wire color setup to start with.

Someone on your end needs to do this so they can see exactly where the wires should go. I suggest you call for a personal visit from your local HVAC company to help you resolve this issue correctly.

Do not call the contractor back that did the disconnect. If they were stupid enough not to label the wires I can guarantee you they will have no idea how to install the new one.
