    Power vent hot water heaters
Every time I turn my hot water on the hot water heater turns on and the power vent turns on. Should this be happening or is something wrong?

If you are turning it on for 1 minute or less (and no water has been used elsewhere in home)... the power vent should not come on.

The power vent will come on as soon as the unit senses a drop in temperature... but that should take a few minutes of running hot water.

If power vent turns on, then turns OFF again...my guess is that you are fine.

Most complaints with these units focus around the power vent NOT shutting off... so you sound OK... but let me know if it turns on instantly or something like that.

Let me know what you think... Mark
