    Moving to Utah
    Hi,
I currently live in So. California. My hubby and I are looking into moving to Utah. I’m just curious what it is like to live there? We are not LDS. My husband was raised LDS but is not a practicing member hasent been one for years. I’m just scared that we will be outcasted. We are trying to start a family and I’m fearfull that my child will be left out? My sis-in law is LDS and lives in Lehi. Were looking around that area. Any insight will be great thanks!

Basically you seem to have some inkling of what goes on there. If you are not LDS you just might have a really hard time getting a good job as everyone out there knows everyone else and Lehi is kind of small to begin with. If you do move there, you will have to make a lot of adjustments like being in the high desert. It is very barren also. If you don't like snow, don't move there either. If you don't like cold or extreme heat in the summer, don't move there either. BUT anywhere that is not California is certainly better if you ask me. California is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't like to live there. Also I think there is much more affordable housing in Utah. Go for it. Get away from Arnold.

Hahahaha! Get away from Arnold hahahaha!! Yea, I have lived in SO. Cal all my life and I hate it!! Were trying to decide where we want to live. Utah seemed like a good place because it's not too far from all my family. But being outcasted seems a little scary to be especially when we have kids!

Only 70 percent of the populaton of Utah are LDS So that means 30 percent are other faiths. And if you add to that, I would guess ( and it is a guess) that maybe 10 to 15 percent that are LDS are not active members.

To my knowledge they no longer require you to wear that large NOT LDS buttom any longer.

Thanks for the info. In my research I have come across a lot of negatives and a lot of positives about living there. I think it will just be a matter of actually spending time in what ever area we want to move to, to really get a good feel for the people there. Thanks for all the info!
