Hi, I'm 16 years old and I live in MS. I can no longer stand to reside in my home. In recent years my mother has abused me and my father doesn't stop her. Not only am I being physically abused but also mentally. Over the last year and a half my boyfriend's family has made sure that I have everything. I would like to live with them, but I know if I ask the consent of my parents then it will cause anger among us and I will be yelled at or hurt. I thought about emancipation,but I'm not sure that I can be granted. My aunt is my legal guardian for school purposes and I know that if my boyfriend's mom could become my legal guardian I could live with them. I have no intentions of dropping out of school. I wish to better myself and I know that if I can move out then I will be much better off. I would like advice or help on this subject because at the moment I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Please advise me so that I can make better choices for myself because I fear if I am not out of here soon I will run away or be hurt.

The first thing you need to do is talk to your school counselors about the abuse. The ONLY way you will be allowed to move out is if you can prove the abuse. The school counselor will put you in touch with family services. You can talk to them about moving in with your bf's family.
