    Treatment for shingles
    I suspect that I have shinges. I understand that there is a shot that will help. How long a time frame is there from the onset to time of the shot.

    What are your symptoms..

    Usually, if you're given antiviral medication within a few days of acquiring shingles, your chance of recovery's very good... if not, then these are the possible treatments:

    Antiviral medication

    Pain meds such as aspirin, ibuprofen, etc... just to give some relief.

    Corticosteroids with antiviral meds

    Topical antibiotics for the rashes (if you have any)
