I won't go into detail, but when the guy I liked found out I liked him (my friend just told him one day in convo) he some things to suggest he liked me but is shy or was at least interested in me. Hes never had a girlfriend or kissed a girl and he has been made fun of a lot for being a pansy. We were friends just not close friends. However, his friends are pretty immature and once they figured it out they meddled and pestered him without asking me. One of my guy friends who did this later apologized for it saying that “things might have turned out different otherwise” which made me think I wasn’t crazy for thinking he liked me. I don’t like his group of friends so Ive stopped talking to them which is easy because school is so busy. Apparently this guy noticed a couple of times when I didn’t greet him like I usually do around campus, and asked my best guy friend several times why that was. I went to a party that he apparently said he didn’t want to go to. When I got there, the host of the party called him and when his friend answered said “he needs to come, because **** is here” I guess the friend relayed the message because he came over right after that and tried to talk to me a couple times and sat next to me for awhile. He really puts on the “nice guy” image so Im thinking he's just afraid he hurt my feelings and is sucking up? Do shyer guys use girls as an ego boost? He hasn’t had many attractive girls like him, Im thinking that’s what this was.

Immaturity, inexperience, and being shy, makes things hard doesn't it. It doesn't sound, as if he is using you at all for anything. He just doesn't know what to do. Obviously neither do you.
