    Clean out backed up
Did a load of laundry and the bathtubs backed up with water. Went outside to check the clean out and when I opened lid, water came rushing out. Can I fix this? Should I call County or a plumber?

You have a blockage in the main sewer line between the clean out and the street. Rent a power plumbing snake and snake from the clean out to the street.

    PH3:

Harold told you what was happening and how to fix it... I just wanted to add that you should call the county sewer department and at least ask if this is something they can down and clear for you.

Some towns, like mine, will clear main drain lines when called during regular working hours for no charge... MOST TOWNS WILL NOT DO THIS!! But some will.. worth a quick call to ask.

Here is a pic. Of the cable machine Harold suggested renting... Good luck... Mark

Backed up shower [ 1 Answers ]

When we flush the toilet it causes a flow up into the standing shower next to it. We have a separated bath room that works fine so do not believe it is the septic tank. Would a liquid drain cleaner help or must we remove the toilet and run a snake down the line to unclogg it? Thanks,...

We just bought our house and the home inspector passed the house, but as soon as we moved in, the dishwasher and the washing machine started to back up into the shower. Showers backed up [ 1 Answers ]

While I was taking a shower last night, my wife flushed the toilet in our other bathroom and the toilet in the bathroom I was in started gurgling. After the gurgling stopped the shower would not drain. I used a plunger on the drain in the tub and it would not drain. Now the shower in the other...
