    Wye delta starter
    At 440 volts, What motor rating in KW I will use wye delta starter.

    Star/Delta Starters are required to be fitted on all motors greater than 4KW (about 5 HP).
    The applied voltage is irrelevant. Only the power requirement is the official deciding factor.
    Of course nothing holds you back to install it on any smaller 3 phase motor.
    They are used to reduce the start current applied to the motor during start.

    As for me, I recommend him to use wye-delta starter for 7.5hp and higher. For < 7.5hp just use CB and inverter, or cb and contactor (you can't vary the speed though)...
