    What is the difference between open & close loop (chiller system):confused:

    The answer is in the question. Open loop is just at it says. It uses a open tank/area to pump from. It is the opposite for closed as in enclosed not open.

    Geothermal heat pump or chiller system? If your saying geothermal heat pump (residential system). I would go closed loop,less amp draw with the pump.(closed loop pump around 1.2 amps per pump) A well pump will eat your savings plus with the open loop your system will have to be descaled every few years.
