I HAVE A QIESTION?

Is it possible for a 1 yr old 2 hate their mother? Well I ask this question be because I have a son and like sometimes I fee lik he does acknowledge me or cares for me. Well when he s wit his grandma, or father he ats different. I admit I can be harsh sometimes but he is the kind of child that just does anything andhe knows he doe it. He is pretty smart 4 his age. Lol too smart. I just feel like may be when he grow up he will hate me or not consider me his mother since I have a mother he totally lets him disrespects me by not acknowledigin me as his mom, but instead tell him 2 call me by my ifirst name which I think is rude? N e help what should I do?:(

Sounds like you need to have a discussion with your mother. You need to be filling the role of mother. You said he is smart, so he will quickly figure out if you are the loving parent with his best interest in mind... if you fill the roll and not have it done by others.

If you want to be the mom, it is not a part time job that works when it is convenient for you. You question makes it seem that he is being raised with you as more of a sister than a mother.

He's probably calling you by your first name because that's the name he hears everyone use, even when you're not around. Ask family members to refer to you in front of him as "mom".

When my mil took care of any of her grandchildren, she gave them cookies when they asked for them, even if it was almost time to eat a meal, and she would allow them to do and say things that their mothers wouldn't allow. My sil's little boy would even go to or reach for his grandmother if he got hurt or wanted something, and started calling Grandma "Mom". At that point, my sil decided to spend more time with her son and also find a new sitter.

Please have a talk with your mother. Of course, when we talked with my mil, she just giggled, but didn't change. We moms had to change how much time we allowed her to spend with the children. I hope you have success.
