    Help! Reformatted PC, hit wrong button- lost.. everything. How do I retrieve what I have "wiped" (mostly word docs)

    Well that's exactly what a format does.
    It completely wipes your drive ready for a clean install.

    There are tools available that claim to be able to recover formated data, but to be honest you would be better off getting a professional company to do it for you.
