    Garnishment in MI
My husband and I were awarded a judgement and would like to go after this guy to collect our money. It has been 2 years and he has moved around but never paid us a dime.
We need to know how we can garnish wages, bank accounts and income taxes without having vital information (ie. Social security # or bank account info)? Is it possible? If not, how can we get this info? Are there other ways to get this money he owes us?

Thank you very much for any help, the case has been going on for 8 years but judgement was awarded 2 years ago. He has had a long time to enjoy our money and we would really like it back if possible.

I originally posted this elsewhere but think it may belong here. Sorry.

    Hello JH:

If you know where he works, you can get his wages garnished. If you don't know where his accounts are, you'll have a hard time seizing them. There are asset search firms who might uncover something, but I've never used any. You may be able to get him back in court to disclose where his assets are.

No, you can't get his income tax refund.

Actually, I've already found a form to take his state refund. My SIL just had her state refund taken from someone she owed money to.
