    Hello cb:

When you get your next check and it's for only $.22, you'll know you've been garnished. If you want to find out before then, check with your payroll department.

When money starts disappearing from your paycheck that's not for one of the usual deductions (withholding taxes, FICA, etc.), then you'll know you have a garnishment. Does anyone have a judgement against you? Has a writ of garnishment been issued? These are questions you want to find out the answers to.

Considering the definition of a garnishment is collecting money on a debt. Then it should be obvioius when a garnishment is applied, you will start loding money from your pay check or bank account.
