    Name Change on Deed
    I own a condo, and my name and my deceased stepfather’s name is on the deed. How do I get the deed changed to just my name?

    Submit a copy of his death certificate with the recording authorities. Be advised: they may want to play a "paper game" so you may need legal advise. There may be someone here that can help with that aspect.

    Yes how it is listed can be the issue, if listed with right of survial, then you will own it by yourself, if not listed that way, it will go to probate and his heirs will own the other 1/2.
