    Whistling noise
When flushing the toilet or running the cold tap in the bathroom (both of which use water from a tank) there is a whistling noise. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to cure it.

Does this whistling sound happen when you use your outside faucet as well..

If so, may be problem back at the tank tappings. Here, would need to shut water off and cut pipes at tank tappings and see if mineral deposits have clogged the tappings of tank a bit.

That is one idea... let me know if happens when using the outside faucet (hosebibb).

We don't have an outside faucet, this noise only happens when flushing toilet or running cold water in the bathroom as the water is fed from a tank in the loft. The water in kitchen runs off the mains.

I got to stick with my original post then... gotta look inside the tappings at tank and see if anything clogging the pipe tappings... then work out from there.

Check the shutoff at the tank as well... is it open all the way? Have you ever drained this tank? That may not be a bad idea either... may get rid of any debris that may be causing an issue.

Something like this involves detective work... you start at the pipes feeding into and out of tank first and then work outward from there.

I am sorry I do not have a better answer for you. Perhaps a few of the other guys will chime in over next day or two. Good luck!
