Does this whistling sound happen when you use your outside faucet as well..
If so, may be problem back at the tank tappings. Here, would need to shut water off and cut pipes at tank tappings and see if mineral deposits have clogged the tappings of tank a bit.
That is one idea... let me know if happens when using the outside faucet (hosebibb).
We don't have an outside faucet, this noise only happens when flushing toilet or running cold water in the bathroom as the water is fed from a tank in the loft. The water in kitchen runs off the mains.Quote:

Check the shutoff at the tank as well... is it open all the way? Have you ever drained this tank? That may not be a bad idea either... may get rid of any debris that may be causing an issue.
Something like this involves detective work... you start at the pipes feeding into and out of tank first and then work outward from there.
