Personally, I feel that plastic surgery's one of those "last options"... after moderately dieting and exercising. Tummy tuck and lipos seem like a copout.

You know, the whole idea of going under the knife for something cosmetic scares me. Surgery is just so dangerous sometimes.

However, I'm not really against plastic surgery (like my opinion really matters :D ). If some part of your physical body really bothers you, and you can afford it, I don't see why you shouldn't correct it.

Just please make sure you get a good doctor. There are websites around that have a list of questions to ask a surgeon to make sure he or she is board certified and has had the training to take the best possible care of you. Just make sure you follow doctor's orders and keep your expectation realistic.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do, but just remember to make choices because you want to... don't let other people have too much influence on you.

I'm OK with people fixing deformities they can't help... my mom had a small growth on her face which made her feel extremely uncomfortable as people stared, so she had it removed. Things of that nature, where the person has no other methods, I feel OK with.

Things like a tummy tuck or lipo... c'mon people. Exercise. Eat right.

I definitely see where you are coming from there. Sometimes, however, eating right and excercisng regularly isn't enough.

Things like considerable weight loss, pregnancies, age, etc can result in a great deal of loose skin around the tummy. A tummy tuck removes part of the skin so the stomach appears smoother and less... searching for a better word... "flabby?"

I completely agree. I'm willing to let the whole cosmetic surgery route slide ONLY when everything's been done. It just seems that people try to go to the gym for two weeks, try a diet for a month or two and then just head straight to that doctor.

Is it quick? Yes. Does it work? Absolutely.

The problem is, however, if you go straight to the doc, your diet is still bad... your exercise routine... still doesn't exist. You'll need another lipo treatment within 2 years.
