Furnace will not stay on to heat house
For some time now I have been having trouble with my furnace. When I turn up the thermostat to cut in the furnace, it comes on for about 5 minutes and then stops. The only way to get it to come on again is to turn the power off to the furnace and then on again. After doing this it cycles again for another 5mins.:(
I took out the hot surface ignitor and cleaned it with sandpaper and it didn't help.
There is a red light that blinks 7 times which I think means "ignition lockout due to retries"

Anyone have this problem or can help?

    Thanks

I had a similar problem which turned out to be my low voltage wires running out to the condenser unit outside of the home. I would check to make sure there is not a lose connection or frayed wires. My dogs had tried to chew through mine. I repaired the wire and have had no trouble since. That was over a year ago.
