    Math blues
Hey I need some advice. I'm currently a high school junior, and I am HOPELESS at mathematics. I've always managed to scrape by with 65s, and trust me its not lack of effort, I try really hard. All my other grades are over 90s, with the exception of sciences which are in the high 80s. Last year I flunked geometry, and I made it up over the summer and passed, but needless to say my math avg. is like a 68. My overall . Though, is an 89.5. I have to choose my classes for next year, and math has really pulled me down the last 3 years. Should I even bother taking it next year since its not required? Will colleges care that I don't have a math senior year, even though I'm doubling up my sciences? Would they rather see me take precalc and get a 65, or drop it completely and continue to work my butt off in other classes.
    Thanks so much!

If it was me, I'd raise my GPA and not worry about math. The GPA is the first thing they will look at. However, it probably depends on which Universities you are applying to. Find out what the requirements are for the schools you are interested in.

My mom was a high school math teacher and my dad is a whiz at everything. My grades were just like yours though. It may be that you had teachers who are not good at teaching in a way that works for you. When I got to College, I soon learned that there are science classes available for those boggled with math. Take those, your brain works just fine. The result is what your future employers will mainly look at. Your GPA.

Find the requirements to schools you want to attend. Some require math senior year. If not go for the higher gpa. I LOVE math so I may not be the best person to ask but I found that the schools I was applying to required a senior year... I graduated as a junior with all 28 credits required! I got turned down because I only attended 3 years of high school and got stuck at a community college! It was a hard hit for me because I had AP credit in calculus, physics, us history, and english. I even had actual college credit in economics sociology and psychology! I worked my but off and can't get into any major university because my record shows my early grad.

Schools can be picky. Get intouch with there freshman advisors or administration department and find out what they exect from future students.
