    Attorney's handling of estate
I was notified a few months ago that a deceased uncle (died in 1986 that was single and childless had passed without a will. I am one of several nieces and nephews that are
Heirs. An Attorney was appointed in the late 1980's and is just settling the estate now.
I got an accounting of the estate and wonder if I have any recourse for 1. delaying
Settling and 2. poor chioces in handling monies from cash distributions of stock. The
Distributions over several years totaled 73k and while some was used for expenses,
It appears that he deposited the money in a bank that paid extremely low interest i.e.
Less than $300 tatol in the last 3 years. It just dosen't add up. He has sent paperwork
To all of which in exchange for stock and some cash he is releasesd of any claims. If
I sign would I have any recourse after the fact ? He is based in Mass. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can hire an attorney and challenge many things, of course it will merely cost the estate more money as it pays the attorney handling it more fees to fight the cases.

And I doubt getting low interest is a crime or against any rules.

If anything why it took over 20 years to settle would be what I would be looking at.
