Oil Heater Doesn't start w/no fail light.
Oil heater not starting two weeks ago. Replaced R8184G because it was receiving 115VAC but not starting. I could push relay to make position and heater would cycle but not run again. No error light again.

Worked for a week and a half after replacing and now does the same thing?

In the documentation for the R8184G it shows a limit. What is this? Also, any suggestions? I have a good fluke digital voltmeter and a schematic, but nothing makes any sense. I have a good electrical background also, but this is new territory.

Also, what are the recommeded settings for low temp, high temp, and difference. Currently set at 170, 145, and 15.

    Thanks,

    Jim

This issue can be a bit tough to solve ( you are at the unit, we are on-line) So... first with the power off to the unit, disconnect the wires going to the T T connection on your control ( these are usually the wires from your zone valves or connected to you t'stat) now with a jumper wire, connect between T and the other T connection, power up the unit and see if it will run. Disconnect one end of one of the T wire connections, the unit should shut down. Wait awhile and connect the T wire again does the unit start OK? And shut down again when you disconnect the wire... If so, the control may not be your problem. Is this oil unit on a furnace or a boiler?
