    Dish washer not draining
    Hi,

Our Kenmore Ultra wash quietguard1 is not draining. I have tried going through the whole cycle one click at a time to see where the drain syscle is with no luck. I checked around the bottom but cannot tell if there is some kind of blockage.

    Any help out there. Please.

    Thanks, Sandi

Sandi, is this a new problem or was the washer just installed? If it is an existing machine that just started acting up it could be one of several issue. Remove the drain line from the trap tail piece or garbage disposal and run it to a 5 gal bucket. Let the washer run a cycle and if it still doesn't drain your washer is bad. The washer drain is the same pump that runs the washing cycle but a solenoid pulls open a valve that redirects the water from recirculating to draining. The solenoid could be bad. Come back here with the results of your test.

Some new installations via the disposal have forgotten to remove the knock out plug in the disposal drain.
