This should be in dogs, hopefully you will get an answer there. I requested that it be moved to that board.

I did a little searching and came up with this just click on the link. I am surprised at all the different types. After you read breed description, look to the left side of the page and click on colors and markings, you may find this interesting as well. Enjoy

I am glad to bushg asked to have this moved to dogs, and it was. If you can't trust the AKC, I am not sure who you could.

Actually, the national breed clubs tend to be a better bet for this kind of question. The AKC will list the colors in the standard, but the breed clubs will often have actual pictures. As in here: faqcolors

Froggy I must have given you rep, recently. Thank you for posting this site.
I looked at the AKC, picture Gallery and could not find that many different pictures. I must say that I really fancy that wirehaired one.

My sister has 1 long haired red one and a black and tan and a short haired red one. My Nika is a black dash/pom mix, but only has the front legs like one and the long body, she also pokes us with her nose when she wants something. She pokes, the couch etc... I have a Santa sitting beside the fireplace... she poked the teddy bear he had in his arms lol she must have wanted to play it it. I guess it is a Doxie trait as my sisters dog do this.
