Why am I not losing the weight anymore?
I have been trying to lose weight since last year.. I'm 16 I'm 150 pounds I want to lose about 30 pounds.. everytime I lose about 10 or 15 pounds then I just gain them again and again.. in the past 3 months I lost 17 pounds but unfortunately I gained 8 pounds from them.. now I'm trying 2 lose weight again but I don't know why I'm not losing any weight anymore I diet and exercise I do eveything and my weight doesn't change I'm really confused and I don't want 2 give up.. I really want to know what's the problem with me why am I not losing the weight like always.. and is there any ways that can help me lose the weight again cause I desperately want to lose those 30 pounds and I want to feel satisfied with my body once in my life!

Hi Sara, a reason as to why you keep putting on weight or why a lot of people loose a lot of weight and then stay at the same weight for a while is because when you exercise the fat turns into muscle and muscle is heavier than fat, so instead of weighing yourself I would perhaps measure yourself with a tape to check your progress and loss in inches instead of pounds. Don't be disheartened, it sounds like you are being healthy. I would also ask for help with a programme at a gym of what exercises to do and also there are different times of the day to work out, I think (but please double check) that if you work out before breakfast (dont skip breakfast, just have it after working out) it burns fat and in the evening it tones... Dont want to mis-inform so get a second opinion on that.
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your answer about my question.. but I would like to ask you does this mean that I should exercise less cause I play tennis 5 times a week for 2 hours each that's my exercise! so should I exercise less or I should just exercise before breakfast like what you told me? And by the way sometimes I skip meals a lot but its never the breakfast is that another reason I'm not losing the weight?
Thank you very very much

Hi Sara, no do not stop exercising, the tennis is good for burning fat. The way you loose weight is by getting your heart beating faster, if you are sweating you are losing weight. This as well as eating a well balanced diet. And like No help said if you do skip meals then your body stores fat because it goes into fasting mode( and you will put on weight). So stop skipping meals!! You need to find a health professional who can better advise you with your question and like I said double check the losing in the morning and toning in the evening. If you have a gym near you, you could ask a gym instructor about such matters. If after you start eating properly again and continue with the exercise you are still not losing then perhaps you should look into other reasons as to why you are not losing weight though (as No help suggested).
