My 8 year old daughter whines.
Can anybody tell me how to stop whining in a child this old. I have tried to sit her down and tell her that its really not acceptable behavior. I have tried ignoring the whining. I have tried to correct it and I have also tried to be sympathetic to her needs... nothing has helped... and its driving me insane! Can anybody please give me some good advice?

What I said to my 4 year old, was when you are ready to be a big boy and tell mommy what you need or want using words mommy will listen until then leave mommy alone. He gets the message real quick a and within 5 minutes he has collected himself and is able to tell me what he needs. Hope this helps
