    94 Civic LX Overheating
I just purchased a 1994 civic lx and it is over heating after about 3-5 minutes of driving about around the block twice at the most the car has a new rad, water pump and timing belt. We also took out the thermostat to see if that was the issue but it did not resolve anything. Also the top house from the rad gets really hot while the one on the bottom stays cool. The car also sounds like it is bogging out like its going to stall but then revs right back up which could be the idle sensor because we disconnected that and it ran the same way disconnected for a bit when it was bogging out. Lol really got my moneys worth on this car haha

    ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED!

How do you know it has a new radiator and water pump? If the radiator and water pump are new (how new?), it's hard to imagine the car doesn't run cold when the thermostat is removed. Has the timing been checked? My gut is that the radiator has some blockage, due to corrosion or mineral buildup.

I know the parts are new because I have the receipts for the parts in the car still with the 1 year warranty on them the parts are about 3 months old tops the rad is sparkling new no the timing hasn't been checked as of yet it may just be an issue with the fan I don't know if the fan is coming on when it starts to heat up. I don't understand why the top hose from rad gets really hott but the bottom one is still cool it seems like the coolent is not circulating
