Accessing the light bulbs for changing
We have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan model #AC 527 NN and are unable to figure out how to get into it to change the bulbs. On on side of the metal frame there is an arrow pointing in one direction and it say "OPEN", and on the other side is "CLOSE". When we try to turn the metal ring the whole light fixture, shaft and all turns. What are we doing wrong? Thank you

You have to hold the fixture so the metal ring can unscrew from it. It takes two or more hands.

Try turning the glass as well.
