Just wanted to say thank you! (Gas Heat fixed!)
    Hello all,

I just wanted to register for this site and say thank you for all the knowledge here. After reading through the H&A FAQ I was able to fix my gas heater and avoid paying for a service call.

The problem was that the burners wouldn't stay lit long enough to get the blower started - after lightly sanding the temp sensor its working perfectly now!

My father-in-law had a guy come out yesterday and I had zero confidence in him after watching him "troubleshoot" the system. His diagnosis was to buy a new blower motor which he estimated to be $100-$150 in parts. I didn't feel comfortable with him, so I jumped online to see what I could learn.

Thanks again for the great site and FAQ!

    Take care,

    GT

As above. The leak was fixed, but there is no response when the thermostat is turned up or down.
