    Getting power to my thermostat
    I am trying to hook up a new furnace, and I am having trouble getting power to the thermostat, any help would be greatly app.

    Find your transformer,(step down type),, should have if elect,220 going in ,if gas should have 110 going in, (,in most cases,),, with 24 to 27 volts coming out,, if OK,check the usually red wire at stat with a tester for low voltage,24 to 27 volts,, if you have power,, tie or jumper the red and white wires together,, if furnace works,you have a thermostat problem most likely,, also if no low voltage look for possible breaks in the stat wire,make sure thermostate wire is connected into the right place in your furnace

    I am sure what you are asking. Usually you have a cable running from the furnace to the thermostat. Power from the transformer is connected to the R and com terminals at the furnace. The red wire of the cable is connected to R at the furnace and R or RH & RC at the thermostat. Often there is a blue wire running from the com at the furnace. If the thermostat needs the common for power, connect the blue to the com.
