    Determine if I'm pregnant.
I am 25 and my husband and I have decided to start a family. I have been on BC for about 2 years, not consistently taking them as I would forget. I would always make them up as stated in the directions in the pill package. Anyway, I have been off for about a month or so. I had my period at the end of September, not really sure, then had another period 2 weeks later. Now that I am thinking about it, it was a little clotty, it seemed heavier than normal, but it just stopped after 3 days. I didn't think anything of it. I am going insane because I want to start a family so bad that I think that It is in my head about my symptoms. The other day I felt a faint, dizzy spell, then I have had cramping and bad bloating and headaches here and there. My breasts aren't really tender yet, but my nipples are hard and sensitive. I have still been discharging. Before all of that started I was telling my husband that my breasts were tingly in a way. I took the last period as the period to start watching for my fertility and ovulation. Are these symptoms just all in my head? I took a pregnant. Test tonight and it was negative. However I still feel some sort of instinct, but like I said, I want this so bad that I may be making my body feel this way. Like I said before I wasn't quite sure when my first period was because I was getting off the pill and I thought the second one was because of that too. Now I'm thinking it might have been implantation bleeding. Please Help! :)

Implantation bleeding is very rare. You may be pregnant, but since the test said negative, I would guess that you are probably not. I would suggest waiting a few days and taking another test. I doubt you would conceive so quickly after stopping the pill, but it could happen. I hope you have good luck!

Most likely your body is regulating it's own natural hormones since you came off the pill so recently.

While these are all symptoms of pregnancy, they are also symptoms of coming off the pill. The "second one" was most likely what is called break through bleeding after stopping the pill. You have been on for over 2 years, so it will take a while before your body begins to manufacture your own natural hormones again.

As far as implantation bleeding, this is not a proven occurrence. Consider that the egg is microscopic and when it implants it implants into tissue. Now, if implantation bleeding were possible, don't you think that for every infection that invades our body and "implants" itself would cause bleeding. You can read here regarding implantation bleeding.

Now, a little help with the pregnancy test. It is always best to take it using first morning urine as the concentration of hCG is higher in the morning. Your urine is diluted with whatever you drank during the day (yes even if you peed it out), diluting the concentration of the hCG (pregnancy hormone) and possibly causing a false negative. Try taking another one in the morning.

I will say, though, that many times our instincts are right on target, so you very well may be pregnant. I hope you get the results you want.

I had been on the pill for nearly five years and I had a period when I stopped taking them & then another 35 days later after that I fell straight away, so it can happen early all depends on your own body , I would count from the 1st day of your last bleed. God luck.
