    Lost title
    I purchased a car from my brother in Dec. 2006, and now I've lost the tilte due to a falling out we had and he put me out and changed his number and address. What can I do?

    When you bought the car, they would have signed the title, and you would go to the DMV ( or proper place in your area) and would have given them that old signed title, and applied for a new one, So to replace your new one, all you do is go down and put in for a lost title. They will replace it.

    If you did not register the title as required by law and proper thing to do, all you can do at this pont is sue your brother in court for the value of the purchase. Using cancelled checks from the bank to prove payments for car
