I'm new to chat rooms is this worth the time?
I'm new to chatrooms and I found one that I kind of like and every time I go there people ask for msn, Yahoo, or cam and I say I don't have any of these. I was think getting Yahoo or msn but I hear about good and bad things about them. The site that go to like I mention ask for msn, Yahoo, or cam and I'm interested making online friends but I'm afraid to give it to the wrong person when I'm on that site, any advice is it worth getting a Yahoo or msn account?

Yahoo has some really nice down to earth people on there. Sign up for the 360 blog space and the answers(sort of like this site). That way you will get to know what they are really about reading their replies. My guess is the more a person pressures you about a cam the more likely they are looking for the wrong motives. They also have groups (hobbies and interests) and games where you can play cards, mahjong, billiards and other games with other members. You can click on my Yahoo 360 blog link below to check the Yahoo.

What do you intend to give someone in a chat room? You never ever tell your real name and location IN a chat room. Think safety first. Safety! You do not have to have to webcam if you do not want one. Yes, people always want to see the other person on cam but it is your right to say no. Remember that, your right to say no and not be afraid to say no. Do not ever let someone intimidate you.

There are safe web resources for people who want to go online and yet are concerned about their safety. Check out the following:
    CyberAngels
    Teenangels

A final note, if something does not feel right when you are talking to someone, listen to your heart. If someone makes you uncomfortable, listen to your intuition.
