Roommate on lease bounces sticks me with the bill. Can I recover costs?
I was on a lease in Spring Hill Florida and my girlfriend was on the lease with me. She left me with all the bills. Termination fees, rents etc. If she's on the lease with me can I legally recover costs?

Yes. As long as you can prove that she was listed as a tenant on the lease, and that you paid 100% of the bills and fees after she left, you should be able to get a judgment against her for 50% of that amount. File a lawsuit in small claims court.

You can recover half of whatever her name was on but you'll need to prove that it was paid by you and you alone.
However, if a bill was only in your name(Let's say a phone bill, for example), then that's your responsibility. You won't be able to recover a bill if her name isn't on it, even if she used the phone more than you did.
