You don't give enough information... is your father French? Is your mother a US, Canadian, etc citizen? Or is she also French? What country do you want to be a citizen of.

My father was in the Army. He is American. My mother is French. I was born in France on a military base. I have family in France.

Therefore you already have dual citizenship right? French and US citizenship. What country if not these two, do you want to be a citizen of.

I just want to know if I am a French citizen or do I have to apply for French citizenship? I was born on an Army base in Orlean France.

I may be wrong (and please let me know if I am), but since you were born in France, I believe you already have French citizenship. Why not call either a French or US State Dept or Immigration office or other such official office and get an answer. My sister who is a US citizen only, has 3 children, one of which was born in MX to a MX father who only had MX citizenship. That child has dual citizenship.

I was born in a army hospital in Japan and had a naturalization citizenship paper done by the military on my behalf when I was 5 years old, so if this wasn't done in your case you probably are a dual citizen
