Suing for money owed, paypal as proof?
    Hello Everyone...

So this is my problem. I let my ex borrow money to get herself off her feet after we broke up. Either to buy equipmet for her business that would bring in money, so that she could pay me off, to paying for her other loans that she owed. One time she was about to go to jail but I helped her pay because if she was in jail, who was going to pay me? So, time passes and I barely receive anything. All in all, it's around $11,500 that she owes me. This is because I had to move money around through credit cards, transfer balances or deal with late fees because she wasn't making any payments.

So this is it, I paid her the money through paypal. On the receipts it says specifically "loan."

    An exp:

    Business Name:
    Carlos_nj
    Buyer Email:
    [email protected]
    Payment Sent to:
    [email protected]

The reason I was the "buyer" was simply because had to log in and request the payments from my credit cards but it was her getting the money. The receipts say "loan for her"

Do I have a case, can I use these receipts in court and would they work for my favor? Also, do emails, in which she said she would pay, and our discussions about her not paying, etc, work in court?

It may or it may not. Just because you sent her some money through Paypal doesn't prove that it was only a loan, not a purchase. As for an e-mail, she could go to court and lie and claim that somebody hacked her e-mail(she could say you did it yourself, although we know it isn't true) and sent messages stating she would pay.

Bottom line: If you don't have anything from her in writing stating that she acknowledges the loan and agrees to pay it back, you're going to have a very hard time winning a case in court.
