Going under W/ back child support INTEREST
I was $3000.00 behind in child support back in 1991. In 2000, I found out that I now owe 14,000.00. It got to almost 19,000.00. Now I'm done with the child support but still owe the back + all that interest. As of today I owe 12,000.00. Is there a way to get this to stop? I have paid the back 3,000.00 + 4,000.00 more on top of that, which I think is fair being that I was never told about the interest being applied for all those years until I was trying to buy a house. Is there anything I can do?

Request a complete accounting on this child support. Use FOIA act to find out where the interest on support is being paid to.

Most likely the state is receiving the interest not the other parent.

Probably not. If the child for whom you were paying support is now emancipated you are still liable for paying whatever arrearages accrued prior to the child becoming emancipated. You don't have to make any further payments but you do have to pay up the arrearages.
