    Normal Voltage in US
Normal household and business electric is 220volts in China. What is normal household and business electric voltage and the frequency in USA?
If a TV with 220v input voltage made in China is exported to US, how will Americans use/connect to the power supply, need a transformer or not?
    Thanks.

The US uses nominal 120 volts 60 Hertz for household appliances.

Any electrical product imported into the US for use in the US must meet UL requirements.

China imports enough crap into this country, the least they can do is to follow our rules.

Voltage drop. Is this normal? [ 2 Answers ]

I live in a rural, small cabin (aprox. 50 yrs. Old) on a co-op electrical grid. The main panel with circuit breakers was recently installed (before I got here, 100 amp service) but the wiring was not replaced. It's the old two-wire (no bare copper ground). When I run certain circuits (220 well...

How far can you run an electrical cord, that is plugged into a 20 amp circuit, and still run a circular saw? If the saw starts slowly, will that harm the saw?
