I canot find anything on my pitbull
I recently bought a pit bull from my husbands brother-in-law. He says that the mother was a pure bread and the father a pure bread of something else. (He keeps all his dogs in a huge kennel and doent know which dog get her.) Anyway, I'm trying to train her and I want to know if I'm doing it wrong. I have to go to school and my husband goes to work. While we are away we keep her behind a baby fence containg her in a small hallway. She doesn't poop but she will pee on the puppy pads. When I get home I take her outside and she doesn't potty. Im I doing something wrong?

I would suggest finding a puppy training class that doesn't conflict with your school schedule or your husband's work schedule. Pitbulls need a lot of hands on training and very strong leadership. They are a high energy dog, very smart, and being terriers, very willful. Due to their strength and their ability to do a lot of damage and/or kill someone, I cannot stress enough that you must make sure that you can control her completely when she is around other people (children in particular) and other animals. Training her properly is of the utmost importance. If you are too busy to do this, you need to rethink ownership of this dog.

Regarding the pottying issue, labman has some excellent info on his sticky that talks about housebreaking, along with crating, and other tips that you should read. Buy yourself a crate because you will come home one day soon to find your baby fence knocked over and gawd only knows what kind of damage she will do to your home. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...man-53153.html

She will poop when she needs to. Exercise will stimulate her system, so make sure she is getting plenty of it, and she should poop without issues. If she doesn't defecate for more than a day, it is time to take her to the vet for a health check. You should bring her into the vet anyway for baseline health check. She needs to be inoculated now against parvo virus & bordatello, along with distemper & rabies shots at a later date. Your vet will discuss the schedule with you.
