    Celing fan speed control
Have a celing fan I purchased at Lowe's. The UL fan speed control (solid state) burned up. Actually has a burnt hole in it. Listed as E161552, control 0604. Trying to find out if I can reasonably purchase the speed control or whether I should just buy a new fan. Only about 15 months old.

    Thanks

Were I you, I would take the component (if I have it loose already), receipt, if I still have it and trot on down to Lowe's and ask would consider replacing the fan before if goes on fire.

Play nice and they just may do it. If they will not, ask for a contact point at the vendor of the fan and call them.

You are not supposed to use solid state speed controls with residential fans. Is it the control that burned, or the fan?

Hi, I was wondering if it was any way possible to hook up 2 control switches to 1 ceiling fan? The fan is at top of stairs and connected to a high ceiling so if this were possible it would be so much of a convenience instead of always running up the stairs to turn on fan. Any help would be greatly...
