    Car insurance-married couple
Is it cheaper for a married couple to have separate car insurances? I have a perfect driving history (no fines, tickets) but my car was stolen in 2000 and I had to file a claim to have it repaired after it was found. My husband has 2 DUIs in the last 14 years with the most current, 2 years ago. Our insurance policy has doubled and I was wondering if it would be cheaper to have 2 separate car insurances. We both have 2006 vehicles that we purchased brand new.
    Thanks.

Call for quotes, with the DUIs it might wind up cheaper. Or it could be that his will go up as much as yours will go down.

I know when I added my husband to my policy, we got a "mulit-car discount".

But I agree with Scott... call around and see, you don't have to commit to anything since you already have insurance.
