    Work out of State
I live in NYC and have been offered a position in NJ.

Do I have to file taxes in NJ, NY, and NYC?

Yes, returns for NJ and NY state ARE required. The NYC tax return is embedded in the NY state tax forms.

NY state will also give you a credit for taxes paid to NJ so you will not be double-taxed.

Yes, the rate is the same regardless of WHERE you earned the income.
