Do yourself a favor, go and buy one of thoes test that tell you when your ovulating. Or you can go to your OB/GYN's office and they can give you some advice... When the time is right it will happen. Good luck to the two of you.

Other than a fertility specialist, try the legs in the air method, cheching your tempeture as soon as you wake up make a scale when you see the tept starting to rise it time to get busy. Also woman are most fertile on the 10th-the 14th day from the day they menstrate. When it stops becoming your main focus it will happen . I tried for years when I finally gave up I went and adopted 3 kids who new the day I signed those papers I was already pregnant... life can be funny..

Relaxing is the best advice I can give. So many women don't fall pregnant until they stop trying so hard. Also, remember that it can take the average healthy couple a year or more to fall pregnant. Make sure you are seeing your ob/gyn regularly and discuss with him/her that you are trying to fall pregnant.

Well it takes most healthly couples at least a year to conceive... so by OBGYN standards you haven't yet hit that "year" mark where they start seeing what they can do to help... those some may.

I would see your doctor and let them know you are trying to get pregnant. Most will do bloodwork to make sure all your hormones are at the right levels for achieving pregnancy. Also start a prenatal vitamin.

Things you can do at home are using ovulation predictor tests. These test detect your LH surge, which you get right before you ovulate. Once you get a positive result you should ovulate in the next 36 hours. Now keep in mind, these tests only PREDICT ovulation. They cannot tell you if you did in fact ovulate. But if you couple the ovulation test with tracking your BBT, you can be sure you ovulated. (you can Google BBT and get all the info you need) but basically, when you ovulate your body releases progesterone which is a heat-emitting hormone that causes your waking temp to rise anywhere from 0.3 to 0.6 degrees. When you chart your normal temps and see it start to rise you know that you ovulated. Temp taking alone is not effective, as when your temp rises that means you already ovulated and it is probably too late (as your egg starts to disinegrate at about 12 hours) but if you use the ovulation kits you will know when you should ovulate... have sex... then with you temps you will be able to be for sure that ovulation occurred.

Here is a site that can help you determine when you are most likely to ovulate based on your cycle:
American Pregnancy Association : Getting Pregnant: Ovulation Calendar

Also I HIGHLY recommend you get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. This book is awesome! It tells you many ways to help boost your fertility. It explains in detail how to chart at home. It is an excellent resource!

In about 6-7 months, after trying all these things, I would visit your doctor again... take all your charting with you! (thats why its good to chart at home, so you doctor knows precisely what has been going on). At that time your doctor should be ready to see what else they can do :)

I know it all seems like a lot, but its worth it :) My husband and I have been trying with no luck. All these things have been useful to us, although they didn't result in pregnancy yet. But my OBGYN is starting me on hormones because by learning and using these methods, we figured out I don't ovualte every month and that's why we were having trouble getting pregnant! So the hormones will make me ovulate and I can still use my charting to detect when I am most fertile :)

    Good luck!
