    Leaking toilet
I need help, my toilet is leaking from the bolts that is holding the tank on the bowl. I bought 2 new bolts and a new gasket, I followed the directions but now the toilet is leaking a lot more then before from the bolts and the gasket. I am afraid to tighten too much in fear of cracking the tank. Should I continue to tighten some more or should I just call a plumber

Let me help before you call in outside help. When you say"new bolts and a gasket" do you mean tank bolts and a spud washer that bottom opening?
First clean the area under and around the tank bolts. Now seat the spud washer on the tank outlet and set the tank on top of the bowl. Slip the tank bolts in with the rubber washers in place under the bolt head. Tighten the tank bolts evenly. Tighten the bolts until the tank has about a 1/4" inch of play. STOP! Do not tighten so the tank sets ridged on the bowl. If the tank hasn't a little bit of play the next time someone leans back on it the tank will crack at the tank bolts. Let me know how you make out. Good luck, Tom
