    Do the colors actually determine the switch operation? My understanding is that most are OFF, C-1, C-2 and C-(1 and 2). C-1 is read as Common to (1). I can't remember the pin #'s of the switch I recently had to remove temporarily on a fan. 1 goes to the lowest capacitor, 2 goes to the highest.

    My apologies on the color code thing.

    To put my other comment clearly, Moving the fwd/rev switch when the motor is running will reduce the lifetime of the fwd/rev switch. I know I'm right.
