    Diverter Problems
My 3 knob shower system has a problem. I have replaced both the center diverter valve and the shower head but I still have a problem.

The problem is that I have water coming from both the spout and shower when I turn the diverter to shower. Also, each time I use it, it seems to get worse by the water pressure from the shower getting less each time. It is also hard to adjust the water temperature for the shower because of the problem.

What I have done: I have replaced the shower diverter valve with a new one.
I tested it with the shower head off and it seemed to work fine but now less that a week later I have the problem described above. I also replaced the shower head thinking the old shower head was limed up.

    Thanks,

    Good morning Michael,

It would help if I knew what brand of shower valve you have. Is your diverter another knob that you turn or a rod that you pull out?
I'm attaching a exploded diagram of a typical shower valve does yours look like this? Cheers, Tom

Shower Diverter [ 1 Answers ]

The water in my shower comes out mostly from the tub faucet and not the shower faucet (which I assume is a problem with the diverter) but what I don't understand is that the water pouring out of the tub end is scalding hot, while the water coming out of the shower end is only warm. Then they both...

Diverter Stem [ 1 Answers ]

I am replacing seats and stems in tub/shower. The old one is Sterling--the new faucet set it a PricePfister. The PF diverter stem doesn't fit into the seat (the hot and cold stems do). Can I go to another size diverter with PF?

Diverter knob won't come off [ 3 Answers ]

My shower diverter quit working this morning. (I gave it the tiniest bit of additional torque this morning and now it is diverting only a trickle.) It is the middle knob variety and is probably a Stirling. The diverter assembly hasn't been touched since I bought the house in 1989. I decided...
