can lights for basement dance room
how do I know how many lights to use. My room is about 12 x 16 with a suspended ceiling. When I hung the ceiling I made sure I was even around all the edges, as a result the joist are not in line with where I wanted to put the can lights. I can run 3 - 6" can across the room but need further lighting on the outside. I am considering using 4 - 5" cans in front of and behind the 6" cans and 4- 4in cans in the corners. This room is a dance room for my daughter that will have a dance barre on one wall and mirrors on the opposite wall.

the configuration would look something like this:

    4in 5in 5in 4in

    6in 6in 6in

    4in 5 in 5in 4in

Really depends on the light output of each light. If each is a 65 watt reflector flood, I think your layout is fine.
