    Not going to suggest that you modify stove. Elements already may be 120 Volt even though unit is 240 volt. Could hook up 1 Element to 120 volts, breaker and wiring would need to be chosen depending on load.
    DON'T do this, I might do this after a hurricane. You would be better off and safer using portable 120 Volt cooktop.
    Another situation may be You have 240 volts, and 120 volt elements, Could wire 2 elements in series. I Don't recommend either.
